RECLAMATION

A Short Film for the Leica ZM 2 Monochrom

Written & Directed by Brandon Ruffin

Staring Joshua Neal and Kristen Bell

Written and directed by Brandon Ruffin for Leica Timepieces, Reclamation is a cinematic meditation on time, legacy, and presence, created for the global launch of the Leica ZM 2 Monochrom. Translating the timepiece’s stark, mechanical elegance into visual poetry, the film rejects the notion of time as merely a measure of seconds, framing it instead as something deeply personal—inherited, navigated, and actively reclaimed.

Rendered in rich monochromatic tones that mirror the watch's minimalist design philosophy, Ruffin harnesses high-contrast light, shadow, and tactile textures to craft an evocative narrative about intentionality and creative discipline. Reclamation bridges the intersection of fine watchmaking and lens-based storytelling, celebrating the quiet power of owning one's narrative in an accelerated world.
